Water Ice and Other Pleasures

Miss C and MaMa sampling water ice.

Water Ice: like a sno-cone, only much better!

I'm enjoying sewing so much.
My everyday bag -- it holds everything I need, even a sippy cup.
Here's the inside:
There's a new baby boy who needs a baby birdie!
He was very fun to make.
Miss C gave him lots of love . . . and he has a heart in his pocket.

Lightning

Lightning and lightning bugs, oh my.

This is my first ever summer on the right hand coast; lightning and thunderstorms are a part of summer here.  When brother D was here, we had a doozy, and he commented that no wonder Benjamin Franklin did his electricity experiments here with his kite and key.  He would have had to wait a long time to have the amount of lightning on my little corner of the left hand coast.

Last evening we had another: the sky gets yellow-dark, the thunder rolls, and the lightning flashes.  When it started last evening, we were outside.  We went up on the porch to watch for a while, and one flash seemed to come right down the street, with an immediate loud crack.  I was glad to be on the porch with a wide roof, and ready to go inside.  The wind and rain followed -- big drops and wind that whirled.  I get a perfect view from my perch on the third floor.

What a show!

Back to the Beach

The guard's boat at the beach

Ah, sand . . .

Miss C and Mama making an island

Miss C and Daddy watching MaMa heading for the waves

Eventually, everyone went out in the waves: Daddy, MaMa and Gma LaLa.  Wonderful warm ocean.  You can really swim.  The drive seemed easier this time.  We'll go again.

Beach dance

I love this!

Pizza Night

Miss C and I made pizza for dinner on Friday.  She helped knead the dough and made her own little pie.  She loves cooking.

Do you like it?

Here, have a bite.

One little pizza and one big pizza.
Goat cheese, roasted pepper & roasted eggplant.
Delicious.

Creative Day

I made myself a little handbag.  I'm really proud of it:

I also made a little zipper bag to hold the assorted things we carry, and a fabric basket for my bathroom.  Fun.

Happy Fourth of July!
I'm missing all my peeps on the upper left hand coast. . . . .

Fireflies are REAL

I saw them tonight at dusk.  We sat outside and watched the little lights all over the yard!
I had never seen them before.  Wow.  A lovely sight.
